ISTANBUL TOURISM INFORMATION CENTRE TURKEY

THE BUILDING IS DESIGNED TO BE LOCATED AT THE FAMOUS TAKSIM SQUARE IN ISTANBUL. LYING IN THE HEART OF VARIOUS PEDESTRIAN ROUTES, THE FRONT FACADE OF THE BUILDING RISES FROM THE GROUND WITHOUT OBSTRUCTING PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC, AND CONSEQUENTLY THE REST OF THE BUILDING TAKES ITS SHAPE FROM THIS CONCEPT.
THE STRUCTURE CONSISTS OF TWO FLOORS, WITH THE UPPER FLOOR HOUSING AN INFORMATION DESK, A SOUVENIR SHOP, A MODEL OF THE CITY, AND AN EXHIBITION HALL WHICH PROVIDES TOURISTS WITH INFORMATION ABOUT THE CITY. THE RESTROOMS, A MEETING ROOM AND STORAGE SPACES ARE LOCATED ON THE GROUND FLOOR.
THERE ARE THREE EXHIBITION AREAS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE BUILDING. THE FIRST TWO ARE LOCATED ON THE FIRST FLOOR; ONE INSIDE AND ONE ON THE TERRACE ACTING AS AN OUTDOOR EXHIBITION SPACE. THE THIRD IS A SEMI OPEN EXHIBITION AREA PLACED ON THE PROJECTION OF THE EXHIBITION HALL ABOVE. HENCE, THE SPATIAL CONCEPT ENSURES A SUITABLE SPACE FOR DISPLAY ALL YEAR ROUND.
